The armed forces of the two countries (Turkey and Syria), are both active in a fierce battle on Turkish-Syrian border in some cases, just a few kilometers from each other, "said a NATO official told Der Spiegel.

NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg warned Turkey to avoid incidents with Russia. The warning came shortly after Turkish jets shot down Russian bombers who carry out combat missions in Syria.

"We must avoid that situation, incident, accident out of control," Stoltenberg said at the time. "I think I've made it very clear that we are calling for calm and de-escalation. This is a serious situation

On Friday, the President of France, Francois Hollande, also stressed the need to prevent conflict between Moscow and Ankara. "There is a risk of war between Turkey and Russia," he said in an interview with radio France Inter.

Russia itself began to annoy the Turkish military action in Syria-Turkey border. Russia has called for UN Security Council meeting held to address concerns over rising tensions on the border

The situation has become more tense due to the increased tension in the Syrian-Turkish border and Turkey said it plans to send troops into northern Syria," the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry
