Russian demand Assad follow Truce

Russia asked Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, to comply with ceasefire

MOSCOW - Russia's UN envoy warned President Bashar al-Assad to not disrupt the ceasefire plan in Syria. This is related to Assad's intentions to reclaim the entire Syrian territory from the hands of rebel forces and the militant group ISIS and al-Nusra Front.

"Russia has invested very seriously in this crisis, political, diplomatic and now also the military. Therefore we also want Assad to respond (a ceasefire)," said Vitaly Churkin was quoted as saying on the page Al Arabiya on Friday (19/2 / 2016).
According to Churkin, Syria still has a chance to get out of the current crisis in a dignified manner.

Therefore, they have to follow the steps taken by Russia.
"If their intention to continue on the basis that no ceasefire is needed and they fight to win, then this conflict will last a very long and scary to imagine it," said Churkin.

Russia launched air strikes in Syria in September last year to support Assad and against "terrorists". Russia said the air attack targeted the ISIS and other extremist groups.
